Hi there! I thought it might be helpful to provide you with an insight into our company ethos and values. Choosing a specialist to complete your installation can be a difficult decision and has to be the right one.
I am a timed served electrician starting as an indentured apprentice at the tender age of sixteen. I have been in the electrical trade for my whole life and have run Ace Electrical (Wolverhampton ) Ltd for the past 22 years.
In 2010, operating our business as electrical contractors, we became aware of a seemingly extremely generous payment from the Government for producing your own solar electricity. Following some research I found out that it was true, so I immediately enrolled on a course to become fully qualified and MCS registered to supply and install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. In the early days the equipment was very expensive but the payback was unbelievably good. Unfortunately it was so good that most people thought it was too good to be true and must be a scam! The people who took a chance in those early days have long since paid for their systems and have made substantial savings and profits from their investment. Their financial returns will continue, index linked, for the next 13 years- 25 years in total!
Over the following 12 years the business had many ups and downs as the Government progressively reduced the subsidy (Feed In Tariff). Conversely the cost, complexity and quality of the solar PV equipment have all improved beyond measure. That is why we call this business “the solar coaster”!!
Luckily, as we are electrical contractors, we have been able to continue through the hard times with our bread and butter trade, and have not gone out of business like so many of our competitors who focused solely on Solar PV. There are always companies coming and going in the solar business, some think it is easy money, some think it isn’t much work, some think its simple and doesn’t need a competent and knowledgable administration team to steer the way through the many forms and permissions required.
At “Ace Solar Energy” we try to steer a course through the conflicting forces of Accountants, Customers and Employees. All of which have to be kept happy to have a successful business.
Accountants want us to charge as much as possible and spend as little as possible.
Customers want the best equipment and a quality installation with excellent service for as little as possible.
Employees want to earn as much as possible for the least time spent.
If any one of the forces gets their way the balance is lost, we endeavour to keep everyone happy by achieving a reasonable profit margin to please the accountants, providing an excellent expert service at a reasonable cost for the customer and good wages and conditions for all employees.
